Stock counts and transfers between branches
Count stock (also for starting stock), close the count, import the count from Excel, and move stock from one branch to another.
Before you start
- For 🧭 Manager
- Module Stock management
Physical stock counts#
Stock › Stock counts. This is also the way to enter starting stock.
- New count: the till takes a snapshot of all active products that track stock (ingredients included) with their expected quantity. There is only one open count at a time.
- Enter the Counted qty line by line (it saves as you go). An empty cell = not counted (never zero): that line does not change. The difference shows next to the expected quantity; a progress bar counts the lines counted; a search helps.
- Close the count: the window says how many lines will be adjusted ("those products' stock will be replaced by the counted quantity") or "No difference detected". Confirm: each difference becomes an Adjustment movement ("Physical count").
With Exact stock, the count is per branch (the active branch) and only the counted difference applies: a sale made after counting stays sold.
Excel#
Export (Excel) gives a sheet to fill in; Import (.xlsx or .csv, 5 MB) only fills in the counted quantities: nothing touches stock before closing. Lines are matched by id, barcode then name; those not matched are reported, not ignored.
Deleting a closed count#
It needs the owner's PIN code, even for a manager. Each adjustment is reversed by a reverse movement and a line is written to the activity log.
Transfers between branches#
Stock › Transfers — you need at least two branches (otherwise the page explains). References TR-0001…
- New transfer: departure branch, arrival branch (different), notes, products with quantities. Draft.
- Send: the quantity leaves the departure branch straight away.
- Receive: it enters the arrival branch.
- Cancel (draft or sent): if the transfer was sent, the goods go back to the departure.
The product's total for the whole business does not change: only per-branch quantities move.
