Taking an order at the table

Open a table, enter covers, choose products, add notes, separate customers and send to the kitchen.

1. Open the table#

Tap a free table (or 🛍 Takeaway). If the Covers option is on, a window asks for the number of people: tap a digit from 1 to 10, or − / + (up to 99) then Confirm. Skip leaves the number empty. The number then shows in a pill next to the table name, which lets you correct it. Covers print on the kitchen ticket and the customer receipt; they are not billed.

At the top of the order, you can attach a Customer (optional) (search from 3 characters: name or phone, with their points) and write an Order note.

2. Choose the products#

The grid first shows the categories; tap one, then the products. The Categories button goes back. There is no text search in the waiter app.

  • Sub-categories (if on): a strip at the top, a path to go back up, "folder" cards with the number of items.
  • A sold-out product shows Sold out and can no longer be tapped, if the "Block out-of-stock products" option is on.
  • Tap a plain product: it is added. Tapping it again raises the quantity.

Variants and options#

A product with variants or options opens a sheet:

  • Variants only: each tap adds one (badge ×2), a small − removes one. Done closes.
  • With options: choose (a single choice, or several depending on the group), then Add · … MAD. The sheet stays open for the next item; tap outside to close.

Notes#

Under a product already added, the Note button (and the bubble on each cart line) opens a window: tap quick notes (your business's) or write "Note for the kitchen…", then Confirm. The note shows in orange "* …" and goes to the kitchen.

3. The cart#

  • Phone: an orange Cart · … MAD button appears as soon as there is an item; tap it to open "Cart (n)".
  • Tablet: the cart stays displayed on the right.
  • On each line, − and + change the quantity; at zero the line disappears.

Separating customers#

With the "Next customer" option (off by default), tap Next customer between two guests: the following items go to the next customer. A "NEXT CUSTOMER" line separates them, and the kitchen ticket prints with the same separation.

Courses (starter, main, dessert)#

With the Courses module and the kitchen screen, each product and each line has a Course button cycling 1 · Starter, 2 · Main, 3 · Dessert, then none (in simple mode: only "The Next"). See course sending.

4. Send to the kitchen#

Tap Send to kitchen. The screen confirms Sent to the kitchen with the table name and returns to the plan after a moment. The table turns In the kitchen.
