Display#

The grid (manager)#

• Category grid (till): 2 to 8 columns, 5 by default.
• Category card shape: Rectangular (default), Less rectangular (about 25 % taller), Square. It only applies to coloured (text) cards: photo cards stay square.
• Sub-categories (off by default): 3 levels at most; set in Products › Categories (categories).
• Product grid (till): Auto (default) or 2 to 8 columns.

Button style and images (manager)#

• Classic (default) or Waiter style (rounded cards, coloured accents).
• Image display: Images everywhere (default), Categories with images, Products with images, Text only.

Quick notes (manager)#

Up to 10 frequent notes ("No sauce", "Well done"…), 30 characters at most; they save when you leave the field. Duplicates and empty boxes are removed. At the till and in the waiter app, they show as buttons when adding a note to a line; free typing remains possible.

Separating customers in an order (manager)#

Next customer (off by default): a button visually separates each guest's items and prints the same separation on the kitchen ticket. The Choose the customer sub-option (off) asks, when adding to an open order, for which customer; it only works if the first is on. See customers at the till.

Position, density and text size (manager)#

• Order panel position: On the right (default) or On the left.
• Display density: Compact (suits 1024×768), Normal (default), Large.
• Text size (product and category names): Normal (default), Large, Very large, Maximum.

Screensaver (manager)#

Off by default. After a delay with no activity, the till shows images or the logo; a touch wakes it. It never triggers during a payment, a till session or a kitchen send, and also shows on the customer screen.

• After how long? 2, 5 (default), 10 or 15 minutes.
• Screensaver logo (else the business logo) and QodPOS logo at the bottom of the screen (optional).
• Clock time zone: the device's clock (default), Casablanca, Paris, London, New York, Toronto, Dubai, Riyadh.
• Images: several, scrolling (JPG, PNG, WebP or SVG, 10 MB; reduced to 1600 px).
• Video (link): the address of an MP4; it replaces the images and uses bandwidth continuously. The address is not checked.
• Wake-up: by a simple touch (default) or PIN code asked on wake-up (each person enters their own; without a PIN, a touch is enough; offline, a touch is enough).

With no images or video: the logo, or the business name on a black background.

Scale labels (bakery, butcher, retail, other)#

Off by default. The scanner reads the label printed by the scale (an EAN-13 code starting with 2) and adds the item at the right weight or price.

• The label carries: the weight (grams) (default) or the price (cents).
• Item code length: 4, 5 (the most common) or 6 digits.
• Scale prefixes: 20 to 29 (empty = all); invalid prefixes are ignored.

An exact product barcode always wins. See building the order.

Dedicated till (full screen)#

Full screen maintained, and two Windows launchers (Edge or Chrome, .bat file) to run once on the till PC: they open at every start-up. To remove them, delete QodPOS.bat from the start-up folder (shell:startup).

Payment (manager)#

• Tips (on by default) and Deduction on card tips: see tips.
• Split bill (on by default; not for salons or coffee shops): the Split button at payment (splitting the bill).
• PIN code when closing (off): requires the cashier's code before closing.

Free-price products#

Products with no fixed price: the cashier types the price at each add. Rename, delete (at least one must remain), add by name. The "Misc" product exists by default.

Service & customers#

• Floor (manager, with tables): Covers (off) and Table transfer (off): see order types and tables.
• Table alerts (timer): Seated without an order (10 min, amber), Order in progress for (30 min, orange), Total time exceeded (45 min, red). These colours show on the till's plan. Minimum and maximum bounds are not checked; a cleared field reverts to its default.
