Several card terminals
Say which terminal each card payment went through, to match each bank statement.
Before you start
- For 💳 Cashier 🧭 Manager
- Setting Settings›Modules›Several card terminals
If you have several bank card terminals (one at the counter, one on the terrace…), each card payment can carry the name of the terminal used. You then find, per day and per terminal, what should appear on each bank statement.
QodPOS does not drive the terminal: the customer pays on the terminal, then the cashier picks the terminal in the till.
For the cashier#
- On the payment screen, tap Card.
- Under Card terminal used, tap the terminal the customer just used. Until one is chosen, the till shows "Choose the terminal to confirm." and blocks the payment.
- Confirm the payment.
The question is only asked with two terminals or more. With a single terminal (or the setting off) there is nothing to choose. For a split payment, each card part asks for its terminal. A customer-account settlement paid by card asks for it too.
For the manager: declaring the terminals#
In Settings › Modules, card Several card terminals (visible when card payment is on):
- Turn on Several card terminals on. By default the setting is off (a single terminal).
- For each terminal, fill in Internal name (reports) (for example "CIH counter terminal") and Name at the till (short, for example "CIH").
- Tap Add a terminal to add one, then Save terminals.
Limits: 10 terminals at most; a 40-character name and a 14-character short name; two terminals cannot share a name.
Where to find the detail#
- X and Z reports: under "Card", lines "of which <terminal name>" with count and amount. A payment with no terminal shows as "Terminal not specified".
- The Z e-mail, the dashboard, the analytics app, the reports export and an order's detail also show the terminal.
- A card refund goes back on the same terminal.
