The words used in QodPOS, explained simply.

| Word | What it means |
|---|---|
| Z report | The summary of the till day, printed at closing: sales, payment methods, cancellations, losses. After a Z, the till starts again from zero. |
| X report | The same summary, during the day, without closing. Handy for a midday check. |
| Closing | Shutting the till at the end of the day: you count the drawer, the till prints the Z. |
| Cash drawer | The drawer holding the cash. The app knows how much it should contain. |
| Card terminal (TPE) | The bank card machine. QodPOS does not drive it: it records which terminal each card payment went through. |
| KDS | The kitchen screen: it replaces or complements the printed ticket. |
| Meal deal | A set sold at a fixed price ("starter + main + drink"), with choices to make. |
| Customer account | A customer who pays later: purchases go on their account, which they settle afterwards. |
| Settlement | A payment received on a customer's account. It is not a new sale. |
| Discount | A price reduction on one item or on the whole order. It can require a reason and a manager's approval. |
| Loss | A product prepared then thrown away (cancellation after preparation, unsold, breakage). It is valued in the reports. |
| Use-by date | The date after which a product must not be sold. Products tracked by batch show it and warn before expiry. |
| Batch | An identified production run or delivery, tracked with its expiry date. |
| Technical sheet | A product's recipe: its ingredients and quantities. It is used to compute cost and stock. |
| Module | A feature added to your subscription. |
| Branch | A point of sale of your business. |
